Photo and banner

Use a high-resolution headshot with even lighting and a neutral or branded background. Profiles with a quality photo get up to 14 times more views.

Your banner is prime real estate. Use it to communicate what you do and who you help in one short line.

Headline and about section

Skip your job title. Use the headline to combine role, focus, and proof: Senior Backend Engineer building reliable payments at scale. Ex-Stripe.

Open the about section with one strong sentence describing what you do today, follow with two or three sentences of proof, and close with what you are open to.

Experience section

Mirror your resume bullets. Quantify outcomes. Use one or two short paragraphs above the bullets to describe the company and your scope.

Add media: link to product pages, talks, papers, or open source contributions wherever they exist.

Visibility settings that matter

Turn on Open to Work with private visibility so only recruiters see it. Set your preferences clearly: roles, locations, remote or hybrid, and start date.

Engage three to five times per week with content from people in your target industry. Inbound opportunities follow visibility.
